We have different shipping methods available in the dropship system as per the dropship guide attached below. Please note that the 'TR' that comes after the shipping method does NOT mean tracked.
As standard for domestic delivery we recommend using 1st or 2nd class standard mail. Most of our products are in letterbox friendly flat postal bottles and as such can be posted straight through the door. This is usually a lot more effective than sending a signed service, which risks collection being required by the receiver if they are not home to take the order.
TikTok requires users to provide a fully tracked service. If you use this platform, you will need to use the Royal Mail Tracked 24 or Tracked 48 service.
The Difference Between Royal Mail Services and Tracking Numbers
The difference between Royal Mail 24 and Royal Mail Tracked 24 lies primarily in the level of tracking and service features:
1. Royal Mail 24 (1st Class service on the dropship guide) :
- Standard Delivery Service: This is a 24-hour aim for delivery, but it is not a guaranteed next-day service.
- Tracking: The tracking number only provides limited information, typically indicating when the item has been delivered or if delivery was attempted. It lacks detailed tracking during the parcel's journey, meaning there's no step-by-step update.
- Delivery Confirmation: You get confirmation of delivery, but it doesn't provide detailed progress or the specific stages of transit. We have found that this confirmation is not always updated by Royal Mail.
2. Royal Mail Tracked 24 :
- Tracked Service: This is a premium 24-hour service that includes full tracking throughout the parcel’s journey.
- Detailed Tracking Updates: The tracking number allows you to see detailed updates at different points of the delivery process—such as when the item has been dispatched, received at a sorting facility, out for delivery, and delivered.
In short, Royal Mail 24 is more basic and suitable for non-critical items where limited tracking is sufficient, while Royal Mail Tracked 24 is better for valuable or time-sensitive items, as it offers full visibility of the parcel's journey.
