At Nutribl, we’re committed to providing reliable, high-quality products that our partners can trust - not just today, but long term.

As part of that commitment, we’ve recently made a small update to our Pet Joint Support range (SKUs PL-416, PL-450 and PL-453), both in terms of formulation and packaging. We wanted to explain what’s changed and, more importantly, why we believe this is a positive step forward.

Why we updated the formula

Chondroitin has long been used in joint products, but over recent years, it has become increasingly difficult to source reliably without significant cost increases. Rather than repeatedly adjusting prices or risking supply interruptions, we chose to update the formula to improve long-term stability while maintaining a strong joint-support profile.

The updated formula replaces chondroitin with hydrolysed bovine collagen peptides (PEPTAN®) - a high-quality, well-recognised ingredient used widely in both human and pet nutrition.

Collagen provides naturally occurring amino acids that support the normal structure of joints, cartilage and connective tissues. It complements the existing blend of glucosamine, MSM, green-lipped mussel, hyaluronic acid and manganese, all of which remain unchanged. This approach allows us to:

  • Secure consistent raw material supply
  • Maintain stable pricing
  • Improve market relevance with a widely recognised ingredient
  • Support long-term daily use across dog sizes

Why the packaging has changed

Alongside the formula update, tablet manufacture has moved onto a different tablet press with greater capacity to support consistent output. This gives us greater reliability, but it has resulted in tablets that are very slightly thicker than before. To ensure correct fill levels and presentation, we’ve moved to slightly larger pack formats:

  • 120 tablets → 200ml flat postal
  • 300 tablets → 400ml round PET

While the packs are marginally larger, this change ensures ongoing production consistency and avoids the risk of under-filled or over-compressed packaging.

Looking ahead

We understand that any change can feel disruptive in the short term. However, these updates allow us to avoid repeated reformulations, unpredictable pricing, and supply interruptions in the future.

Our goal has been simple: short-term adjustment for long-term stability - for us and for our partners. If you have any questions or would like support with updated product messaging or labels, our team is always happy to help.
